Work performed while at Meadors Inc.
While at Meadors, Laura served as designer & project manager for this project. Roles included client design meetings, construction drawings, estimating & cost analysis, interior architecture (finishes, fixtures & cabinets), and construction administration.
Scope of Work:
This was an exciting combination of historic restoration and new construction, traditional and contemporary architecture. The original 1869 house was raised above base flood elevation and the porches were restored. The exterior walls were reclad and insulated to provide a better envelope.
The addition, which houses the kitchen, master suite, and guest suite, incorporated glass walls to take in the views of Fort Sumter. The "hyphen" between portions of the addition uses glass walls, steel, and old wood siding in a blend of traditional and contemporary.
