Rockville Residence

completed 2006

Work performed while at Meadors Inc.

Work Performed:

While at Meadors, Laura served as designer &  project manager for this project.  Roles included client design meetings, construction drawings, and construction administration.

Scope of Work:

It might be hard to believe that this Rockville home was completed in 2006, not in 1840.  Authentic tabby piers and reclaimed brick add to the traditional detailing of the exterior.  The house was designed as if it had been modified over the years, including a filled-in side porch bathroom and Victorian front porch details.

Salvaged materials were used throughout the house, including interior doors and hardware, natural antique heart pine flooring, and wall planking from an old post office. The living room mantel was crafted of floorboards from the attic of this owner’s downtown Charleston house.

The combination of traditional details, reclaimed materials and natural finishes gives this house an authentic, lived-in feel appropriate to Rockville.
